Novapoint Noise

Novapoint noise calculates road traffic noise and railroad noise according to the Nordic Prediction Method of 1996 and the French XPS31-133. It is suitable for quick overviews and for detailed calculations. Knowledge of advanced acoustics is reduced to a minimum. Results can be displayed directly on maps, as tables, colored contours or in detailed reports.
  • Calculates road traffic and railroad noise
  • Calculates single points or noise contours
  • Calculation can be spread on several PCs
  • No acoustical expertise required
  • Good presentation possibilities
  • Results as text, 2D or 3D

Simple to use

Whether you are planning a new project or just want to take a quick look at an existing situation, you can use Novapoint Noise without in depth knowledge of acoustics. Only in very complex situations you will meet the acoustic limits of the program.

Input

The Novapoint terrain model is included and forms the basis for the calculation. A wide range of input formats are supported, including DWG, DXF and SOSI. Other input data such as traffic volumes and speed is entered in user-friendly dialog boxes.

Calculations

The calculation is based on the Nordic calculation methods for road / railway traffic noise, last revised in 1996, and the French XPS31-133 method (Extra license needed for railway noise). Reflection from vertical surfaces (noise barriers, buildings etc.) can be calculated. Calculation details are available in reports or can be exported to e.g. Excel. Many calculation alternatives can be stored for any calculation point. This makes it easy to compare noise reduction measurements and present them graphically.

Noise barriers and buildings

With Novapoint Noise you can change the design of noise barriers and buildings and calculate the effect of the changes. Noise barriers can be set to be reflective or absorptive.
A building can be connected with a set of calculation points and be colored according to the calculated values.

Calculation points

Calculation points can be defined in free field, in front of facades or in a grid. Any point can have several levels and be connected to a building.
A grid of calculation points is the basis for calculating the noise contour lines. Noise contour lines can be presented as lines or colored areas.

Presentations

Calculation results can be presented directly on the map with text and color or in detailed reports. Several alternatives can be presented at the same time.
