The Rambøll Group and Vianova Systems announce a new strategic BIM cooperation
The Rambøll Group and Vianova Systems have signed a new strategic framework agreement for the Nordics: further establishing Novapoint as the Rambøll Group’s primary Building Information Modeling (BIM) solution for projects within both infrastructure and transportation design.
The contract, with a total value of over Euro 1,5 million spread over three years, covers maintenance and user support for all of the Rambøll Group’s Novapoint licenses throughout her Nordic daughter companies. In addition the agreement includes separate local arrangements to facilitate Rambøll’s ongoing new Novapoint investments in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The principle aim of the strategic cooperation is to advance the development of new innovative BIM solutions and products within the field of infrastructure design – mutually benefiting both partners. The Rambøll Group will actively participate in Vianova’s product development process, providing in-depth industry knowledge and crucial field experience, thus enabling the focused user-orientated development of Novapoint’s new modeling-technology for project design, site construction and building maintenance.
BIM for infrastructure and transportation design is a new exiting buzzword that is set to significantly affect the construction industry, says Flemming Bligaard Pedersen, Managing Director of the Rambøll Group. – This concept will radically change the traditional use of CAD in the design phase, introducing instead an extensive intelligent information model. This new use of 5D information models combined with interdisciplinary workflows will challenge and advance our industry on all fronts. These changes will affect all levels of the sector, but will especially set new demands on software developers.
