3D and cross sections viewer for road designs
Novapoint Civil Construction provides complete control of the calculated geometry of the road. It can be controlled as well in 3D as in cross sections or plan view.
In addition to that, one has an overview of the input data used for the road design. All road surface widths, slopes, layers in the superstructure, etc. are available in dialogues. You can also make plan and cross sections drawings in AutoCAD *.DWG.
Export setting out data
From Novapoint Civil Construction you can export setting out data to GPS/total stations or machine guidance systems. Road designs (VIPS) can be opened directly in the programme and exported to Leica Road Runner, LandXML (Mikrofyn, SBG), Trimble (*.tdf and *.PRO) and Anmask. One can also export lines, surfaces or points to different formats, among others LandXML triangle model, which can be used directly in machine guidance systems.
Import data to the DtM
All measured data from terrain, ditches, pipes, etc. can be imported to a Novapoint Terrain Model using formats like *.kof, *.sosi, *.LandXML, *.txt, etc. This way one can supplement the Terrain Model with measured terrain surface or measured rock surface.
Design of alignments and roads
As both the Road design and the Terrain Model are available, present Road designs can be calculated relative to recently measured terrain data. If you need to design your own roads (VIPS projects), e.g. for a temporary road, a ditch or a disposal site, this can be performed in Novapoint CivilConstruction. Functionality for complete alignment design both horizontally and vertically is also included.
Volume documentation as hatched cross sections
Novapoint Civil Construction is a module, which is available from the AutoCAD/Autodesk Civil 3D environment. Thus you have a lot of opportunities for interaction between DWG-drawings and Novapoint Civil Construction. I.e. for drawing the result of the mass calculation for the road model. This is presented as illustrative, hatched cross sections.
Design and calculation of construction pit
The design of construction pits, temporary depots and other forms of terrain manipulations, can be performed using Novapoint Civil Construction. The slopes and the volumes between designed base lines and the surrounding soil layers will be calculated.
Volumes between measured-in terrain layers
Quantity calculations between two triangle models and between a triangle model and a given level, is a flexible function which can be used for most quantity calculations between layers.
