Novapoint Virtual Map

Novapoint Virtual Map is a professional solution for design modelling and visualization. It converts multidisciplinary design data into visually rich virtual reality presentation that everybody can understand and view interactively. This results into more efficient communication, better design solutions and notable time and cost savings. When integrated into design process, it makes sure that project parties succeed and goals are achieved. Virtual Map truly adds new dimensions into design process.
  • Superior visual communication
  • Fun and inspiring
  • Analysis and quality management
  • Easy to use
  • Design simulation
  • Notable time and cost savings

Keep it simple and visualize

Make things understandable for all. Visualization is essential in modern communication especially if complex structures or ideas are to be explained to people that don’t have the same background or professional expertise. Virtual Map converts complex design data into an easy to understand visual format and allows interactive investigation of the designs from any viewpoint or perspective.

Rapid sketch modelling

Sometimes it is necessary to explain ideas fast. Virtual Map has a special Sketch tool for rapid modelling. In a special draw mode the user can draw elements in 2D but still visualize in 3D. It even allows you to use different sketchy styles like water colour and charcoal.

Professional presentations

During all design phases it is important to be able to present the project in a professional manner. The Virtual Map Viewer makes virtual reality presentations easy and fun. Users can activate pre-defined viewpoints and movement paths or move inside the model freely using many different navigation modes. Tools like measuring, groups, object info, search and document links add new dimensions to presentations. It is also possible to save images and animation videos. But most importantly, Virtual Map activates people to communicate and give valuable feedback.

Design management

Nowadays, it is beneficial to do what we call “Integration modelling”. It means a dynamically updated virtual model of all design data from all design domains. During the whole design process the model is updated constantly to reflect the current design status. Designs can be reviewed using the virtual model instead of multiple paper prints. Viewing the design as a 3D virtual model gives the design process a whole new perspective. Conflicts like colliding structures, visibility obscuring objects, bad quality geometry or just unnoticed elements are immediately seen in the virtual model. The conflicts can be saved as viewpoints with comments and sent back to the designers for fixing. This is an innovative new way of working and results in a much better project management and better solutions.

Designing becomes modelling

The latest version of Virtual Map allows designers to cross-reference their data with each other using XREF links. Whenever something changes, it is visible to every designer using the cross-referenced model, and if necessary they can react to it. For the project this means improved tools for change management and also cost savings as modelling and designing becomes one.

Sharing information

Sharing information is very important. Virtual Map models can be exported to a package that can be sent to anyone together with the free Viewer or through the Internet using free ActiveX Viewer for Internet Explorer.

Many interesting application areas

Virtual Map is used to analyze environmental impact of windmill parks, power lines and bridges. It is also used for visually rich city, harbour, road, railway, seaway and airport models. The latest version of Virtual Map has a simulated sky and automatically calculated shadows that makes it the perfect planning tool.
